Andrea Rosso maintained his advantage in Formula 4 Cup’s second practice session at Vallelunga this afternoon by making it two fastest times in as many outings on home soil.
The Italian’s local knowledge came in handy during FP1 when drivers sampled their first taste of KCMG’s brand-new hybrid F4 chassis. And he continued to hold sway during a session that was effectively ended early due to heavy rain.
However, he also faced stiff competition from Israel’s Ido Cohen who at one stage was just 0.072s behind. That ultimately became two tenths when Rosso banged in a 1m36.003s just before rain began to fall with six minutes remaining.
Laszlo Toth also remained a threat throughout and ultimately wound up just 0.061s behind Cohen. The Hungarian beat Malthe Jakobsen (Denmark) and Luis Leeds (Australia) who traded fastest times following two brief red flag periods. Both finished approximately half-a-second behind Rosso.
William Alatalo (Finland) and Joao Rosate (Brazil) completed the top-eight ahead of Niklas Kruetten (Germany), who briefly led the times early on.
Qualifying for this weekend’s first Formula 4 Cup race starts at 09:10 CET on Saturday. Watch it live right here on the FIA Motorsport Games website.
