Team Lithuania has confirmed an increased team of nine drivers will compete for gold, silver, and bronze medals under their country’s colours at the FIA Motorsport Games at Circuit Paul Ricard in France.
One of the 49 nations that joined the inaugural FIA Motorsport Games in Italy three years ago, Team Lithuania returns to compete across seven disciplines at the second edition of the event next month, 26-30 October.
There are two familiar faces in the Team Lithuania line-up, with Benediktas Čirba confirmed to contest the Drifting discipline for a second time, having finished in the top 10 in 2019. Joining him will be Julius Adomavičius, who makes the switch from Touring Cars following an impressive eighth place at the inaugural Games to represent the team in GT Sprint this year.
Representing the nation in the Fanatec Esports Cup will be Tauras Gudinavičius, while Lithuania enters several disciplines new to the event this year. They include Markas Šilkūnas in Karting Sprint Senior, Vytis Pauliukonis and Evelina Drilingienė in Auto Slalom, and Eimantas Navikauskas and Jonas Gelžinis in GT.
The Lithuanian delegation will be well dressed for the competition with all team uniforms made from recycled polyester and natural raw materials, thanks to Tūta, the LASF’s official clothing manufacturer.
LASF President Egidijus Janavičius comments: "I am very happy that such a large Lithuanian team is going to Marseille this year. It is especially important to participate and present our country and our talented athletes to Europe and the world. It is also important to win prizes, and I am sure that the Lithuanian athletes will be able to do it.”
