The countdown continues to the FIA Motorsport Games 2024

  • Less than two weeks until entries close

VALENCIA, SPAIN (Wednesday, September 11, 2024) – The clock continues to count down to the third edition of the FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia, Spain, where racers from across the globe will gather to wave the flag for their nation in international motorsport competition.

The 2024 edition of the event will feature a record number of disciplines with 28 different gold medals up for grabs – up from 16 at the 2022 event in Marseille, France, and six at the inaugural event in Rome, Italy, in 2019.

While entries remain open until September 23, the 2024 entry list already features twelve nations that will be competing for the first time.

The new nations set to debut in Valencia include Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Botswana, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Lebanon, Namibia, Philippines, and Trinidad & Tobago, with more still set to join.

“Welcoming new nations to the FIA Motorsport Games is an absolute thrill. One of our key goals for the event is for it to be a catalyst for the FIA ASNs around the world to further grow the sport in their country,” said Stéphane Ratel, Founder and CEO of SRO Motorsports Group.

“Many of these nations do not even have a race track, but the FIA Motorsport Games is giving these racers a chance to fulfill their dreams to compete on a global level.

“A great example from 2022 was Team Bahamas, whose karting team practiced in a temporary track set up in a grocery store car park to train for the Games. To see the smiles on their faces to just have the opportunity to compete in the event was terrific.

“While many countries with a long motorsport history such as Italy, France, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Australia have won multiple gold medals, many more nations are eager to claim their place on the medal table and fight for gold medal honors.”

The hometown heroes, Spain, head the highest number of entries so far with 21 out of 28 categories confirmed, while the host nation is expected to field representatives across all six core disciplines of Circuit, Electric Street, Esports, Karting, Off-Road and Rally.

Other nations with double-digit entries – one for each category – so far include Germany (13), Lithuania (12), Georgia (11) and Poland (10), while a huge wave of entries is expected in the coming weeks.

“I’m so honored to join forces with #TeamSpain in the GT Sprint category again” says Dani Juncadella.

“I was a bit unlucky in Marseille 2022 as our car had some technical issues, but I’m confident this time we will fight for the medal. Our race is scheduled on Sunday but I’ll be supporting our entire team, we’re coming back with a strong line-up in at least 27 categories!

“And I know we can count on our fans, I hope to see a massive crowd in the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. Just can’t wait to be there”

Entries for the 2024 Games continue to pour in, and the dedicated FIA registration platform will remain open until September 23, 2024.
